About this recipe

A crispy, golden treat of spiced fish cutlets, infused with aromatic Indian spices and served warm, perfect for a hearty breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 1Kg Potato
  • 500 g Onion
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • 1 Kg R.C. Fish
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 45 g Garam Masala
  • 100 g Salt
  • - Rice Flour
  • 200 ml Mustard Oil

Instructions

  1. 1. Boil the fish and potatoes until tender, then remove the fish bones and mash the flesh with the boiled potatoes.
  2. 2. Finely chop the onion, green chilies, and coriander leaves, and mix them into the mashed fish and potatoes.
  3. 3. Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt to the mixture, combining well until evenly seasoned.
  4. 4. Shape the mixture into medium-sized cutlets and coat each with rice flour for added crispiness.
  5. 5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, ensuring it's hot enough for shallow frying.
  6. 6. Carefully place the cutlets into the pan and fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides, flipping gently halfway through.
  7. 7. Remove the cutlets from the pan and let them rest briefly on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  8. 8. Serve the cutlets warm with green chutney or a squeeze of lime for a zesty kick.
