Ingredients

  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 1 kg Basmati Rice
  • 500 g Moong Dal
  • 500 g Onion
  • - Tomato Ketchup
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 45 g Garam Masala
  • 100 g Salt
  • - Bay Leaf
  • 1 l Soyabean Oil

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the basmati rice and moong dal thoroughly under running water.
  2. 2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan and add cumin seeds and bay leaf until aromatic.
  3. 3. Dice the onion, tomato, carrots, and green beans into small pieces and add them to the pan.
  4. 4. Sauté the vegetables for 5 minutes until softened and lightly golden.
  5. 5. Stir in turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt, mixing well with the vegetables.
  6. 6. Add the rinsed rice and moong dal to the pan, gently mixing to coat them with the spices.
  7. 7. Pour in water and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cover the pan.
  8. 8. Cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice and lentils are tender and absorb the water.
  9. 9. Remove the bay leaf and fluff the pilaf with a fork to separate the grains.
