Ingredients

  • 500 g Wheat Flour / Maida
  • 1 piece Yellow Bell Pepper
  • 250 g Carrot
  • 500 g Onion
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Salt
  • 200 ml Mustard Oil
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 1pc Watermelon

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse and cook the lentils in water until soft and mushy, approximately 15 minutes.
  2. 2. In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, letting them sizzle for 30 seconds.
  3. 3. Add finely chopped onions, green chilies, and sauté until golden brown.
  4. 4. Add chopped capsicum and carrot, cooking until tender but slightly crisp.
  5. 5. Stir in turmeric and coriander powder, mixing well with the vegetables.
  6. 6. Add the cooked lentils to the pan, seasoning with salt and stirring to combine.
  7. 7. Prepare a dough using whole wheat flour, water, and a pinch of salt, then roll out flatbreads.
  8. 8. Cook the flatbreads on a hot griddle until both sides are golden and puffed slightly.
  9. 9. Place the lentil and vegetable mixture onto the flatbreads, garnishing with coriander leaves.
  10. 10. Roll the flatbreads tightly to form kathi rolls and secure with parchment paper or foil.
