- 500G Tata Masoor Dal M
- 250 g Carrot
- - Tomato Ketchup
- 500 g Onion
- 100 g Garlic
- loose Ginger
- 250g Green Chilli
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Jeera
- 45 g Garam Masala
- 100 g Salt
- - Coriander Powder
- 1pc Watermelon
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the masoor dal thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear.
- 2. Peel and dice the carrot, finely chop the green beans, onion, garlic, ginger, and green chili.
- 3. Heat vegetable oil in a handi or deep pan and add cumin seeds until they crackle.
- 4. Sauté the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger until golden and fragrant.
- 5. Add the diced tomato, green chili, turmeric, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften.
- 6. Stir in the rinsed lentils and mix well to coat them with the spice mixture.
- 7. Pour in water and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- 8. Lower the heat, cover, and let it simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 9. Add the chopped carrots and green beans to the handi and cook for another 10 minutes until tender.
- 10. Sprinkle garam masala and mix well, ensuring the flavors are evenly combined.
- 11. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves before serving.
- 12. Serve hot with steamed rice or enjoy as a standalone dish.
