Ingredients

  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • 1 kg Rice
  • - Frozen Mixed Vegetables
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • - Ginger Powder
  • - Rock Salt
  • - White Pepper
  • 200G Mix Lonche (200g)
  • 140 g Modern Kitchens Raita Boondi - 100 % Rice Bran Oil
  • 1 Bunch Coriander Leaves ( Kottambari Soppu )

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the yellow lentils under running water until clear and soak them for 10 minutes.
  2. 2. Wash the rice thoroughly and set aside to drain before cooking.
  3. 3. Heat oil in a deep pan and sauté ginger powder and fresh turmeric until fragrant.
  4. 4. Add the soaked lentils and water to the pan, then bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. 5. In a separate pot, cook the rice with 400 ml water and a pinch of rock salt until fluffy.
  6. 6. Steam the frozen mixed vegetables for 5 minutes or until tender, ensuring they retain their vibrant colors.
  7. 7. Season the cooked lentils with Buknu spice mix, white pepper, and rock salt, stirring well.
  8. 8. Combine the steamed vegetables with the lentils and gently mix to distribute flavors evenly.
  9. 9. Serve the turmeric rice in bowls, topped generously with the lentil-vegetable mixture.
