Ingredients
- 1 kg Jackfruit
- - Baby Tomatoes
- 100 g Garlic
- loose Ginger
- 100 g Jeera
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli
- 45 g Garam Masala
- 1 kg Rice
- - Coriander Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 1pc Watermelon
Instructions
- 1. Peel and chop the raw jackfruit into bite-sized pieces, removing the tough outer skin.
- 2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them crackle for a few seconds.
- 3. Add finely chopped onions, garlic, and ginger; sauté until golden and fragrant.
- 4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder; cook until the tomatoes are soft and the oil separates.
- 5. Add the jackfruit pieces to the masala and mix well to coat them evenly.
- 6. Pour in water, cover the pan, and simmer for about 15 minutes until the jackfruit is tender.
- 7. Sprinkle garam masala and adjust salt; mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.
- 8. In a separate pot, fluff the cooked rice and mix in a pinch of cumin seeds for added flavor.
- 9. Plate the cumin rice and ladle the jackfruit masala generously over it.
- 10. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves before serving.
