Ingredients

  • 1 kg Basmati Rice
  • 6 pcs White Eggs
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Salt
  • 1pc Watermelon
  • - Coriander Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. 2. In a medium pot, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and toast the cumin seeds until aromatic.
  3. 3. Add the rinsed rice to the pot, followed by turmeric powder, salt, and water. Stir gently to combine.
  4. 4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid.
  5. 5. Let the rice cook for 15 minutes until tender, then turn off the heat and allow it to rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
  6. 6. In a separate pot, boil the eggs for 8 minutes for a firm yet creamy texture, then cool them in ice water and peel.
  7. 7. Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan and lightly sear the boiled eggs for a golden crust.
  8. 8. Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and transfer it to serving bowls.
  9. 9. Place two boiled eggs on top of each rice bowl and sprinkle with crispy fried onions.
  10. 10. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and serve warm.
