Ingredients
- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- - Tong Garden Cheddar N Jalapeno Chickpeas
- 500 g Onion
- - Tomato Ketchup
- 400 g Curd
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli
- 45 g Garam Masala
- - Coriander Powder
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- - Bay Leaf
- 50 g Cloves
- - Green Cardamom Powder
- 75 G Cinnamon Stick/ Dal Chini 75 Grams
- 100 g Salt
- 1pc Watermelon
Instructions
- 1. Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes in water.
- 2. Heat oil in a deep pan and sauté sliced onions until golden brown.
- 3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
- 4. Stir in chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
- 5. Add turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala; mix well.
- 6. Add boiled chickpeas and gently coat them with the spice mixture.
- 7. Stir in the plant-based curd, mint leaves, and coriander leaves.
- 8. Add soaked and drained basmati rice, mixing gently to combine.
- 9. Pour water and season with salt; let it come to a boil.
- 10. Add bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon stick for extra aroma.
- 11. Cover the pan and cook on low heat until the rice is fully cooked.
- 12. Let the biryani rest for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
- 13. Garnish with additional mint and coriander leaves before serving.
- 14. Serve hot and enjoy the aromatic flavors of this hearty biryani.
