- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- 1 pack Mushrooms Button
- 250 g Spinach
- - Baby Tomatoes
- - Milky Mist Skyr Plain Yogurt
- 250g Green Chilli
- 25 g Ginger Garlic Paste
- 100 g Jeera
- 45 g Garam Masala
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Bay Leaf
- 100 g Salt
- 1pc Watermelon
- - Coriander Powder
Instructions
- 1. Wash and soak the basmati rice in water for 20 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- 2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan and add cumin seeds, bay leaf, and sliced onions. Sauté until onions are golden brown.
- 3. Add ginger garlic paste and green chilies, stirring well for 1-2 minutes to release their aroma.
- 4. Stir in chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and garam masala, cooking until the tomatoes are soft and the spices are well blended.
- 5. Add the mushrooms and spinach, sautéing for 5 minutes until they release their moisture and soften.
- 6. Mix in the plain yogurt and salt, ensuring the ingredients are evenly coated with the mixture.
- 7. Add the soaked basmati rice to the pan, gently stirring to combine with the vegetables and spices.
- 8. Pour in water, bring to a boil, then cover the pan with a lid and reduce the heat to low.
- 9. Cook the biryani for 15-20 minutes, allowing the rice to absorb the flavorful liquid and become tender.
- 10. Turn off the heat and let the biryani rest, covered, for 5 minutes to enhance its aroma.
- 11. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro leaves before serving hot.
