Ingredients

  • 1Kg Potato
  • 500 g Onion
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • 300 g Ginger Paste
  • - Garlic Paste
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • - Red Chilli
  • 50 g Cumin Powder
  • - Rice Flour
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate

Instructions

  1. 1. Boil the potatoes until soft, peel them, and mash them thoroughly in a large bowl.
  2. 2. Soak the soy granules in hot water for 10 minutes, then drain and squeeze out excess water.
  3. 3. Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a pan and sauté the onions, green chili, ginger paste, and garlic paste until fragrant.
  4. 4. Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt to the pan, and cook for 1 minute.
  5. 5. Combine the mashed potatoes, soy granules, sautéed mixture, and chopped coriander leaves in a mixing bowl.
  6. 6. Add rice flour and lemon juice to the mixture, kneading it into a firm dough.
  7. 7. Shape the mixture into small croquettes or cylinders of equal size.
  8. 8. Heat the remaining oil in a deep pan or kadhai for frying over medium heat.
  9. 9. Fry the croquettes in batches until they are golden brown and crisp on all sides.
  10. 10. Remove the croquettes using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  11. 11. Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup for a delightful snack.
