Crispy Soy Chunk & Veggie Fritters recipe

Ingredients

  • 500G Loose Besan
  • 1Kg Potato
  • 250 g Carrot
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 50 g Cumin Powder
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • - Red Chilli
  • 100 g Salt
  • 200 ml Mustard Oil
  • 1pc Watermelon

Instructions

  1. 1. Soak the soy chunks in warm water for 10 minutes until they soften.
  2. 2. Peel and grate the potato and carrot into a mixing bowl.
  3. 3. Finely chop green chilies and coriander leaves and add them to the bowl.
  4. 4. Squeeze excess water from the soaked soy chunks and finely chop them.
  5. 5. Mix the soy chunks with the grated vegetables and chopped ingredients.
  6. 6. Add chickpea flour, cumin powder, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt to the mixture.
  7. 7. Slowly add water to form a thick batter while ensuring everything combines well.
  8. 8. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat for frying.
  9. 9. Shape small portions of the batter into fritters using your hands or a spoon.
  10. 10. Gently place the fritters into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on all sides.
  11. 11. Remove the fritters with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  12. 12. Serve the crispy fritters hot with chutney or ketchup for dipping.
