Ingredients

  • 80 g Soya Chunks
  • - Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 piece Yellow Bell Pepper
  • 200 ml Coconut Milk
  • 50 g Cumin Powder
  • 52 g Paprika Powder
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 50 g Black Pepper
  • 200 ml Mustard Oil
  • 1 kg Water Chestnuts
  • - Corn Starch Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Soak the soy chunks in hot water for 10 minutes until they soften, then drain and squeeze out excess water.
  2. 2. Dice the tomato and green bell pepper into small cubes and set them aside.
  3. 3. In a bowl, mix the cornstarch with coconut milk, cumin powder, paprika, turmeric powder, salt, and black pepper to form a smooth batter.
  4. 4. Coat the soy chunks evenly in the batter, ensuring each piece is well covered.
  5. 5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, then fry the coated soy chunks until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. 6. Remove the soy chunks and let them cool slightly while preparing the lettuce leaves.
  7. 7. Wash and pat dry the lettuce leaves to create the wrap base, ensuring they remain intact.
  8. 8. Place a few crispy soy chunks onto each lettuce leaf, followed by the diced tomato and bell pepper.
  9. 9. Drizzle any remaining coconut milk mixture over the wraps for added flavor.
  10. 10. Serve the wraps immediately while the soy chunks are still warm and crispy.
