About this recipe

Golden, crispy fritters made with moong dal and rice flour, infused with aromatic spices for a satisfying snack.

Ingredients

  • - Rice Flour
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • loose Ginger
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 1pc Watermelon

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse and soak the moong dal in water for 4 hours or overnight.
  2. 2. Drain the soaked dal and grind it into a coarse paste with green chilies, ginger, and a little water.
  3. 3. In a mixing bowl, combine the moong dal paste with rice flour, chopped coriander, cumin seeds, turmeric, and salt.
  4. 4. Gradually add water to the mixture to create a thick batter, ensuring it holds its shape when dropped into oil.
  5. 5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat for frying.
  6. 6. Using a spoon, drop small portions of the batter into the hot oil carefully.
  7. 7. Fry the fritters until golden brown and crispy on all sides, turning occasionally for even cooking.
  8. 8. Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  9. 9. Serve the crispy fritters warm with a mint or tamarind chutney for dipping.
