Ingredients
- 1 pack (1 kg) 921 Everyday Long Grain Rice
- 500 ml Mother Dairy Full Cream Milk
- 200 g Organigram Chia Seeds
- 1 ltr Kinley Packaged Water
- 1 kg Whole Farm Grocery Sugar (Packet)
- 1 pack (25 g) Snapin Nutmeg Powder
Instructions
- 1. Rinse 1 cup of rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain.
- 2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rice with 2 1/2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- 3. Stir in 1 cup of sugar, mixing well until fully dissolved.
- 4. In a separate bowl, combine 1/4 cup of chia seeds with 3/4 cup of water and let sit for 10-15 minutes until it forms a gel-like consistency. Gradually whisk in 3/4 cup of milk.
- 5. Slowly pour the chia seed and milk mixture into the cooked rice, stirring constantly to combine. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- 6. Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg over the rice mixture and stir to incorporate. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 7. Serve warm or chilled as desired, garnished with a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor.
