Ingredients

  • 1 pack (1 kg) 921 Everyday Long Grain Rice
  • 500 ml Mother Dairy Full Cream Milk
  • 200 g Organigram Chia Seeds
  • 1 ltr Kinley Packaged Water
  • 1 kg Whole Farm Grocery Sugar (Packet)
  • 1 pack (25 g) Snapin Nutmeg Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse 1 cup of rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain.
  2. 2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rice with 2 1/2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
  3. 3. Stir in 1 cup of sugar, mixing well until fully dissolved.
  4. 4. In a separate bowl, combine 1/4 cup of chia seeds with 3/4 cup of water and let sit for 10-15 minutes until it forms a gel-like consistency. Gradually whisk in 3/4 cup of milk.
  5. 5. Slowly pour the chia seed and milk mixture into the cooked rice, stirring constantly to combine. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. 6. Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg over the rice mixture and stir to incorporate. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  7. 7. Serve warm or chilled as desired, garnished with a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor.
