Chilled Indian Yellow Pea Soup recipe

Ingredients

  • 100 g Premium Green Chilli
  • 100 g X 3 Mtr Turmeric Powder | Arisina Pudi Combo
  • 250 ml Dabur Hommade Lemon Juice (Bottle)
  • 100 g Jk Jeera Powder / Cumin Powder
  • 100 g X 3 Mtr Coriander Powder Combo
  • 100 g Catch Sprinklers - Iodized Table Salt
  • 50 g On1Y Black Peppercorns With Grinder
  • 500 g Tata Sampann Unpolished Yellow Moong Dal (Dhuli) Split

Instructions

  1. 1. Pick over the yellow peas to remove any grit, then wash and drain them thoroughly.
  2. 2. Place the drained peas in a large saucepan with 5 1/2 cups of water and 1/2 teaspoon turmeric. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. 3. Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for 90 minutes or until the peas are tender. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. 4. Transfer the cooked peas and their liquid to a blender or use a hand blender directly in the pot. Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon ground cumin, 1 teaspoon ground coriander, 1 chopped green chile, 1/4 teaspoon, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Blend until smooth.
  5. 5. Pour the blended soup into a serving bowl and refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour.
  6. 6. Before serving, garnish the soup with a sprinkle of ground cumin.
