- 900 G Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Dark Soy Sauce
- 1 kg Whole Farm Brown Sugar
- 40 g On1Y Ginger Powder
- 567G Canz Water Chestnut
Instructions
- 1. In a square baking dish (8 x 8-inch), mix 1 cup soy sauce, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger until the sugar dissolves.
- 2. Cut the plant-based bacon strips and firm tofu into halves. Slice the tofu into bite-sized pieces.
- 3. Wrap each piece of tofu and a slice of water chestnut in a piece of plant-based bacon. Secure with a toothpick.
- 4. Place the wrapped pieces into the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- 5. Remove the marinated pieces from the dish and drain off excess marinade. Place them on a double layer of paper towels.
- 6. Arrange the pieces on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on High for 5 minutes.
- 7. Reduce the microwave power to Medium and continue cooking until the plant-based bacon is browned and crispy, about 12 to 18 minutes. Rotate the plate every 3 to 5 minutes for even cooking.
