Ingredients

  • 100 g Til
  • 500 g Jaggery Powder
  • 200 ml Ghee
  • 20 g Cardamom Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat a heavy-bottomed pan on low flame and dry roast the sesame seeds until they turn aromatic and lightly golden. Remove from the pan and set aside to cool.
  2. 2. In the same pan, add ghee and jaggery. Cook on low heat, stirring continuously, until the jaggery melts completely and forms a smooth syrup. To test, drop a small amount of syrup into a bowl of water; if it hardens immediately, the syrup is ready.
  3. 3. Add the roasted sesame seeds and cardamom powder to the jaggery syrup and mix quickly to ensure the seeds are evenly coated.
  4. 4. Immediately pour the mixture onto a greased flat surface or parchment paper. Use a rolling pin or flat spatula to spread it evenly to your desired thickness while it's still hot.
  5. 5. Let the mixture cool slightly, then cut it into squares or desired shapes while it's still pliable. Allow it to cool completely to harden.
  6. 6. Once cooled, store the til chikki in an airtight container and enjoy as a healthy dessert or snack.
