Ingredients
- 250 g Mutton
- 500 Gms Pearl Barley
- 250g Garlic
- 250g Ginger
- 100 ml Olive Oil
- 75 G Cinnamon Stick/ Dal Chini 75 Grams
- 250g Coriander
- 900 g - 1 kg Onion
- 500 g Desi Tomato
- 500 ml Water
- 50 g Cumin Powder
- 100 g Coriander Powder
- 55 g Paprika Powder
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 50 g Black Pepper
- 10G Salt
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot or pressure cooker on medium heat.
- Add the cinnamon stick and sauté for a minute until aromatic.
- Add the chopped onions, garlic, and ginger, and sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
- Add the mutton pieces and cook until they are lightly browned on all sides.
- Mix in the tomato puree, cumin powder, coriander powder, paprika, turmeric powder, and black pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the soaked barley, water, and salt. Stir well to combine.
- Cover the pot and simmer on low heat for 40 minutes, or pressure cook for 20 minutes until the mutton is tender and the barley is cooked through.
- Adjust seasoning as needed and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
