- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 250g Green Chilli
- 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
- - Coconut Oil
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Jeera
- 50 g Asafoetida Powder
- - Coriander Powder
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- 100 g Salt
- 50 g Black Pepper Powder
- 100 g Tej Patta
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the moong dal thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear, then soak it for 15 minutes.
- 2. Heat coconut oil in a pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, and asafoetida, and let them sizzle for 30 seconds until aromatic.
- 3. Stir in the chopped tomato and green chili. Cook for 3-5 minutes until the tomato softens and breaks down.
- 4. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and black pepper powder. Stir well for 1 minute to toast the spices.
- 5. Drain the soaked moong dal and add it to the pot. Mix it with the spices and cook for 2 minutes.
- 6. Add enough water to cover the dal (about 3 cups), bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the dal is soft and slightly mushy.
- 7. Stir in salt, garam masala, and lemon juice. Adjust the consistency of the broth by adding more water if desired, and simmer for another 3-5 minutes.
