  • 1 bunch Bok Choy
  • 1 bunch Spring Onion
  • 500Ml Habit Toasted Sesame Oil Cold Presses
  • - Rice Vinegar
  • 100 g Til
  • medium Chilli Green Long
  • 50 g White Pepper Powder
  • 100 g Cornflour
  • 500 ml Water
  • 10G Salt

Instructions

  1. 1. Wash and chop the bok choy into bite-sized pieces, and dice the silken tofu into 2 cm cubes. Finely chop the spring onions and cilantro.
  2. 2. In a pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat and add asafoetida. Stir briefly, then add the chopped bok choy, spring onions, and green chili (if using). Sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  3. 3. Add tamari, rice vinegar, and white pepper powder to the pot, stirring to combine. Pour in enough water to create a broth, approximately 4-5 cups, and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  4. 4. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with 2 tbsp of water to create a slurry. Gradually add this to the simmering broth, stirring continuously to thicken slightly.
  5. 5. Carefully add the silken tofu cubes to the broth and simmer for 3-4 minutes to warm through, ensuring the tofu remains intact.
  6. 6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then garnish the soup with chopped cilantro and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
