Ingredients

- 250 Gms Poppy Seeds
- 250g Green Chilli
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 10G Salt
- 500 g Rice
Instructions
- Step 1: Grind the soaked mustard seeds, poppy seeds, turmeric powder, a pinch of salt, and one green chili into a smooth paste using minimal water.
- Step 2: Marinate the fish fillets with the mustard-poppy seed paste and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Step 3: Take the banana leaves and lightly pass them over an open flame to soften. Brush the inside of each leaf with a little mustard oil.
- Step 4: Place one marinated fish fillet in the center of each banana leaf. Add a drizzle of mustard oil and a few chopped green chilies on top.
- Step 5: Fold the banana leaves into neat parcels, securing with toothpicks or kitchen thread if necessary.
- Step 6: Steam the fish parcels in a steamer or in a covered pan with a little water at the bottom for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
- Step 7: Cook the soaked rice in boiling water until tender. Drain and serve the steamed fish parcels alongside the rice.
