Ingredients
- 500 g Prawns
- - Mustard Seeds
- 250 Gms Poppy Seeds
- 500 ml Water
- 250g Green Chilli
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 10G Salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Grind the soaked mustard seeds and poppy seeds into a smooth paste using a little water. Add 1 green chili during grinding for extra flavor.
- Step 2: Marinate the cleaned prawns with turmeric powder and a pinch of salt. Set aside for 10 minutes.
- Step 3: Heat mustard oil in a pan until it reaches a smoking point. Then lower the heat.
- Step 4: Add the marinated prawns to the oil and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they turn slightly golden. Remove and set aside.
- Step 5: In the same oil, add the mustard-poppy seed paste, slit green chilies, and a splash of warm water. Cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat.
- Step 6: Add the sautéed prawns back into the pan, mix well, and cook for another 5 minutes until the prawns are fully cooked and the gravy thickens.
- Step 7: Adjust salt and spice levels. Serve hot with steamed rice.
