A unique twist on Odia cuisine featuring rice flour dumplings stuffed with prawns, served with a rich coconut-mustard curry.

- 500 g Prawns
- 1 piece Coconut
- 250g Green Chilli
- 250g Ginger
- 250g Garlic
- 500 Gms Rice Flour
- 500 ml Water
- - Mustard Seeds
- 10G Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the rice flour dough. Boil water with a pinch of salt, then gradually add rice flour while stirring until it forms a smooth dough. Allow to cool slightly.
- Step 2: Make the stuffing. Heat 1 tablespoon mustard oil in a pan. Add grated ginger, minced garlic, and cleaned prawns. Cook for 2-3 minutes with turmeric and salt, then set aside.
- Step 3: Form dumplings. Take small portions of dough, flatten into discs, and add prawn stuffing in the center. Seal to form dumplings (pithe).
- Step 4: Steam the dumplings. Place dumplings in a steamer and cook for 10-12 minutes until firm.
- Step 5: Prepare mustard-coconut curry. Grind soaked mustard seeds with grated coconut and green chilies to a smooth paste. Heat 2 tablespoons mustard oil in a pan, add panch phoran, and drumsticks. Sauté briefly.
- Step 6: Add mustard-coconut paste, 1.5 cups water, and salt. Simmer for 10 minutes until drumsticks are tender.
- Step 7: Serve. Place steamed dumplings in a serving bowl and pour the hot curry over them. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
