Ingredients
- 20G Curry Leaves
- 500 g Jaggery
- 100G Cashews
- 500 g Toor Dal
- 500 g Ghee
- 500g French Beans
- 200 g Green Peas
- 250g Coriander
- 500 g Mille Kangni/Foxtail Millet
- - Mustard Seeds
- 100 G Asafoetida / Hing 100 G
- 500 ml Water
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 10G Salt
Instructions
- Step 1: In a rice cooker, cook rinsed foxtail millet with 2 cups of water until soft and fluffy. Set aside.
- Step 2: In the same rice cooker, add cooked toor dal, tamarind pulp, turmeric powder, and 2 cups of water. Stir well.
- Step 3: Add boiled carrots, beans, green peas, and avarekalu to the rice cooker. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Step 4: Mix in the Bisi Bele Bath powder, jaggery, and salt. Stir until the spices are evenly distributed.
- Step 5: Add the cooked millet into the rice cooker and mix gently to combine. Simmer for another 5-7 minutes, adjusting water if needed for a semi-thick consistency.
- Step 6: For tempering, heat ghee in a small pan. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, dry red chilies, asafoetida, and cashews. Pour this tempering over the millet mixture in the rice cooker.
- Step 7: Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot alongside a small bowl of masala avarekalu (optional).
