Ingredients

  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • 500g Swad Roasted Rice Powder 500g
  • 50 g Asafoetida Powder
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 200 ml Mustard Oil
  • 500 g Capsicum Green
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 50G Green Chilies
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 3-4 hours. Drain and blend into a smooth batter using minimal water.
  2. 2. Transfer the batter to a bowl and mix in rice flour, asafoetida, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  3. 3. Stir in finely chopped green chilies, tomatoes, bell peppers, and coriander leaves to incorporate fresh flavors and texture.
  4. 4. Heat a tawa (flat griddle) on medium flame and grease it lightly with oil.
  5. 5. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the tawa and spread it gently into a thick pancake. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges turn golden brown.
  6. 6. Flip the uttapam and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until evenly cooked and crisp.
