Ingredients
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- 500g Swad Roasted Rice Powder 500g
- 50 g Asafoetida Powder
- 100 g Jeera
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 500 g Capsicum Green
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 50G Green Chilies
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 3-4 hours. Drain and blend into a smooth batter using minimal water.
- 2. Transfer the batter to a bowl and mix in rice flour, asafoetida, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- 3. Stir in finely chopped green chilies, tomatoes, bell peppers, and coriander leaves to incorporate fresh flavors and texture.
- 4. Heat a tawa (flat griddle) on medium flame and grease it lightly with oil.
- 5. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the tawa and spread it gently into a thick pancake. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges turn golden brown.
- 6. Flip the uttapam and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until evenly cooked and crisp.
- 7. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding oil as needed.
- 8. Serve hot with coconut chutney, tomato chutney, or plain yogurt for a complete and nourishing meal.
