  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
  • - Coconut Oil
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 50 g Asafoetida Powder
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 50g Everest Garam Masala
  • 100 g Salt
  • 50 g Black Pepper Powder
  • 100 g Tej Patta

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the moong dal thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear, then soak it for 15 minutes.
  2. 2. Heat coconut oil in a pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, and asafoetida, and let them sizzle for 30 seconds until aromatic.
  3. 3. Stir in the chopped tomato and green chili. Cook for 3-5 minutes until the tomato softens and breaks down.
  4. 4. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and black pepper powder. Stir well for 1 minute to toast the spices.
  5. 5. Drain the soaked moong dal and add it to the pot. Mix it with the spices and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. 6. Add enough water to cover the dal (about 3 cups), bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the dal is soft and slightly mushy.
