Ingredients
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- loose Ginger
- 250g Green Chilli
- 500 g Onion
- 100 g Garlic
- 500 g Chicken Whole
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 100 g Salt
- 100 g Jeera
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli Powder
- 50 Grms Garam Masala Handmade Spices 50 Grms
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 3-4 hours or overnight.
- 2. Drain the soaked moong dal and blend it into a smooth batter with 1/4 cup water, ginger, green chili, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.
- 3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter for 30 seconds.
- 4. Add chopped onions to the pan and sauté until golden brown. Then add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- 5. Add shredded chicken, turmeric, red chili powder, and garam masala to the pan. Mix well and cook for 5-6 minutes until the chicken is heated through and coated with spices.
- 6. Add chopped coriander leaves to the chicken mixture, adjust salt as needed, and set the filling aside.
- 7. Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease it with oil.
- 8. Pour a ladleful of moong dal batter onto the pan and spread it into a thin, round pancake. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden brown.
- 9. Flip the cheela, spread a portion of the chicken filling on half of the pancake, and fold it over to form a semi-circle. Press gently to seal.
- 10. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to ensure the cheela is crisp and the filling is warm. Repeat with the remaining batter and filling.
- 11. Serve the Moong Dal Cheela with Chicken hot, accompanied by mint chutney or yogurt dip for added flavor.
