- 100 g Unsalted Butter
- 500 g Sugar
- 50 g Cinnamon Powder
- - Red Chilli Powder
- 500 g Refined Flour
- 100 g Icing Sugar
- 30 g Smoked Paprika Powder
- 100 g Salt
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F). Lightly grease small ramekins with butter and set aside.
- 2. Marinate the shrimp with lime juice, paprika, chili powder, and salt. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
- 3. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
- 4. In another bowl, mix flour, breadcrumbs, cinnamon powder, and a pinch of powdered sugar.
- 5. Coat the marinated shrimp in the dry mixture. Heat olive oil in a pan, fry the coated shrimp until golden and crispy, then set aside.
- 6. Place a few fried shrimp in each greased ramekin. Carefully pour the egg and milk mixture over the shrimp, filling each ramekin about three-quarters full.
- 7. Place the ramekins in a water bath and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the flan is set and slightly golden on top.
- 8. Let the flans cool for 5 minutes before running a knife around the edges to loosen them. Carefully invert onto serving plates.
- 9. Sprinkle the tops with powdered sugar and a dash of cinnamon for garnish. Serve warm or at room temperature, and enjoy your unique spicy dessert!
