Ingredients
- 100 g Garlic
- 500 g Onion
- 250 g Carrot
- 80 g Soya Sauce
- 500g Gochujang (Korean Chili Paste)
- 500 Ml Champion Oil
- 500 G Sugar
Instructions
- 1. Soak 200g of rice cakes (tteok) in cold water for 30 minutes to soften them.
- 2. In a large pan, heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil over medium heat.
- 3. Add 2 cloves of minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- 4. Pour in 2 cups of water and bring to a gentle boil.
- 5. Add 2 tbsp of gochujang (Korean chili paste), 1 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tbsp of sugar, and 1 tsp of gochugaru (Korean chili flakes). Stir well to combine.
- 6. Drain the soaked rice cakes and add them to the pan. Stir to coat them evenly with the sauce.
- 7. Add 1 sliced onion and 1 sliced carrot to the pan. Stir to mix.
- 8. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice cakes are tender and the sauce thickens.
- 9. Add 2 boiled eggs (halved) and 1 cup of chopped spring onions. Stir gently to combine.
- 10. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and additional spring onions if desired.
