Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Spring Onion
  • 500 g Chicken Whole
  • 90 g Dark Soy Sauce
  • 500g Gochujang (Korean Chili Paste)
  • 50 g Honey
  • 200 ml Sesame Oil
  • - Rice Vinegar
  • 100 g Til
  • - Dry Red Chillies
  • 100 g Cornflour
  • 1 liter Sunflower Oil
  • 100 g Salt
  • 50 g Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, gochujang, honey, sesame oil, and rice vinegar to create the marinade. Mix well until smooth.
  2. 2. Season the chicken thighs with salt and black pepper. Add the cornstarch and toss to coat evenly.
  3. 3. Heat the neutral cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken thighs for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. 4. Reduce the heat to low and pour the prepared marinade over the chicken. Simmer for 3-4 minutes, turning the chicken to coat it evenly in the glaze. Allow the sauce to thicken and cling to the chicken.
  5. 5. Garnish the glazed chicken with sesame seeds, sliced spring onions, and red chilies for an extra kick. Serve hot with steamed rice or a fresh salad.
