  • 1 kg Idli Rice
  • 1 pc (approx. 500 g to 800 g) Cabbage
  • 1 kg Bell Peppers
  • 1 bunch Spring Onion
  • - Edamame
  • 300 g Shiro Miso Paste
  • 500Ml Habit Toasted Sesame Oil Cold Presses
  • - Rice Vinegar
  • 100 g Til
  • 100 g Cornflour

Instructions

  1. 1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes. Toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. 2. Heat 1/2 tbsp sesame oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes and pan-fry until golden and crispy on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. 3. In the same pan, heat the remaining 1/2 tbsp sesame oil. Add asafoetida, shredded cabbage, and sliced bell peppers. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.
  4. 4. In a small bowl, whisk together white miso paste, tamari, rice vinegar, and coconut until smooth. Pour this mixture into the pan with the vegetables and stir well to coat.
  5. 5. Add the cooked tofu and shelled edamame to the pan. Gently toss everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. 6. To assemble, divide the cooked rice into serving bowls. Top with the tofu and vegetable mixture, ensuring an even distribution of sauce.
  7. 7. Garnish with chopped spring onions and toasted sesame seeds. Serve warm and enjoy your wholesome Tofu Miso Donburi.
