Ingredients
- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- 250 g Carrot
- 250 g French Beans
- 500 g Capsicum Green
- 1 pc (approx. 500 g to 800 g) Cabbage
- 1 piece Bottle Gourd
- 200 g Table Salt
- - Coriander Powder
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli Powder
- 500 Ml Champion Oil
Instructions
- 1. Gather all the ingredients: 1 cup rice flour, 1/2 cup grated bottle gourd (lauki), 1/4 cup grated carrot, 1/4 cup finely chopped cabbage, 1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum, 1/4 cup finely chopped green beans, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder, 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 cup water, 1 tablespoon oil, and 1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves.
- 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
- 3. Gradually add water to the dry mixture while stirring continuously to form a smooth, lump-free batter. The consistency should be similar to pancake batter.
- 4. Add the grated bottle gourd, grated carrot, chopped cabbage, chopped capsicum, and chopped green beans to the batter. Mix thoroughly to ensure the vegetables are evenly coated.
- 5. Heat a takoyaki pan or a small, round-shaped mold pan over medium heat. Lightly grease each mold with a few drops of oil using a brush or a piece of cloth.
- 6. Pour the batter into each mold, filling them up to the top. Allow the batter to cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges start to set.
- 7. Using a skewer or a small spoon, gently flip each takoyaki ball to cook the other side. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the balls are golden brown and cooked through.
- 8. Once cooked, remove the takoyaki balls from the pan and place them on a serving plate. Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
- 9. Garnish the takoyaki balls with finely chopped coriander leaves for added flavor and freshness.
- 10. Serve the Jain vegetable takoyaki hot with a side of green chutney or tamarind chutney for dipping. Enjoy your meal!
