Frequently asked questions
- Can I substitute Bajra Atta Millet with another type of millet?
- Yes, you can substitute Bajra Atta Millet with other millets like ragi or jowar, but the texture and cooking time may vary slightly. Foxtail millet is preferred for its fluffy texture and ability to absorb the tangy flavors of the dish.
- How do I control the spice level in Tangy Tawa Millet Upma?
- To reduce the spice level, you can use fewer green chilies or skip the red chili powder. Alternatively, you can add a dollop of yogurt as a side to balance the heat without altering the dish's flavor.
- What is the purpose of adding lemon juice at the end?
- Lemon juice adds a tangy freshness that complements the earthy millet and spices, elevating the overall flavor profile of the dish. Adding it at the end preserves its bright acidity, which could diminish if cooked.
- How can I ensure the millet doesn't turn mushy?
- To prevent mushiness, use the correct millet-to-water ratio (1:2) and cook on low heat. Avoid over-stirring while the millet is cooking, as this can break the grains and make them clump together.
