Ingredients
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- 500 g Onion
- 500 g Capsicum Green
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 50 g Black Pepper Powder
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the yellow moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 3-4 hours, then drain and grind it into a smooth batter using minimal water.
- 2. Transfer the batter to a bowl, and add finely chopped onion, tomato, capsicum, green chili, and coriander leaves. Mix well.
- 3. Season the batter with turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, garam masala, salt, and black pepper powder. Stir until evenly combined.
- 4. Heat a tawa or non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with 1 tsp oil.
- 5. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the tawa and spread it gently to form a thick pancake. Cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes until the bottom turns golden brown.
- 6. Flip the moonglet carefully and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until golden and fully cooked.
- 7. Remove the moonglet from the tawa and repeat the process with the remaining batter.
- 8. Serve the warm tawa vegetable moonglet with fresh coriander chutney or tomato ketchup for a flavorful breakfast.
