Ingredients
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- - Rice Flour
- loose Ginger
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 50 g Asafoetida Powder
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. Wash the yellow moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 4 hours or overnight.
- 2. Drain the soaked dal and blend it into a smooth batter using a mixer or blender, adding a small amount of water as needed.
- 3. Transfer the batter into a mixing bowl and stir in rice flour, green chili, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, asafoetida, chopped coriander leaves, grated ginger, and salt. Mix well to form a thick, pourable batter.
- 4. Heat a non-stick tawa or skillet on medium heat and lightly grease it with oil.
- 5. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the tawa and spread it gently into a thin round pancake. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges begin to crisp.
- 6. Flip the pancake and cook the other side for another 2 minutes, adding a few drops of oil around the edges if needed.
- 7. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adjusting the heat as necessary to avoid burning.
- 8. Serve the Pesarattu hot with coconut chutney or tomato chutney for a refreshing breakfast experience.
