Ingredients
- 500 g Onion
- 500 g Chicken Whole
- 1 pc (approx. 500 g to 800 g) Cabbage
- 100 g Garlic
- medium Chilli Green Long
- loose Ginger
- 500 g Wheat Flour / Maida
- 500 Ml Champion Oil
- 200 g Table Salt
- 90 g Dark Soy Sauce
Instructions
- 1. Start by preparing the dough. In a large bowl, take 500g of refined wheat flour (maida) and a pinch of salt. Gradually add water to form a smooth and flexible dough. Cover and set it aside for at least 30 minutes.
- 2. For the filling, finely mince 500g of chicken and place it in a mixing bowl.
- 3. Chop 1 whole onion, a handful of garlic, and a thumb-sized piece of ginger, and add them to the bowl with the chicken.
- 4. Also, finely chop a small cabbage (around 500g to 800g), one or two green chillies, and 250g of spring onion. Add these to the chicken mixture.
- 5. Add a tablespoon of soy sauce, salt according to your taste, and mix all the ingredients well until evenly combined.
- 6. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each one into a thin circle of about 3 inches in diameter.
- 7. Place a spoonful of chicken-vegetable filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold and pleat the edges to seal the momo. Repeat until the filling and dough are finished.
- 8. Prepare a steamer by brushing the rack with a little refined soyabean oil to prevent sticking.
- 9. Arrange the momos on the steamer rack, ensuring they do not touch each other, and steam them for about 15-20 minutes or until the momos are cooked through.
- 10. Serve hot momos with soy sauce for dipping, and enjoy!
