Ingredients
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- 200 ml Ghee
- 500 g Onion
- - Dairy Milk
- 250g Green Chilli
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 20 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- 2. Heat ghee in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds, allowing them to splutter.
- 3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Stir in the chopped tomato and cook until softened.
- 4. Add the mixed vegetables, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Stir well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- 5. Add the soaked moong dal to the pan, stirring to combine. Pour in the milk and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- 6. Reduce heat to low and let the porridge simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the dal is cooked and the porridge reaches a creamy consistency.
- 7. Season with salt and garnish with fresh coriander leaves and slit green chili (optional for added heat).
