Ingredients

  • 1 kg Basmati Rice
  • 100 g Lemon
  • 500g to 700g Turkey
  • 200 g Table Salt
  • 50g Everest Garam Masala
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 300 g Ginger Paste
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • - Red Chilli Powder
  • 500 Ml Champion Oil

Instructions

  1. 1. Gather all the ingredients: 500g of boneless turkey or turkey breast (ensure it is cleaned and pat dried), 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of ginger paste, 1 teaspoon of garlic paste (optional), 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of red chili powder, 1 teaspoon of coriander powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin powder, 1 teaspoon of garam masala, 1 teaspoon of dried mango powder (amchur), salt to taste, 1 cup of fresh coriander leaves (chopped), 1 cup of fresh mint leaves (chopped), 1 lemon (juiced), and 1 cup of water.
  2. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ginger paste, garlic paste (if using), turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, dried mango powder, and salt. Mix well to form a thick paste.
  3. 3. Add the olive oil to the spice paste and mix thoroughly until well combined.
  4. 4. Place the turkey pieces in the bowl and coat them evenly with the spice mixture. Ensure all parts of the turkey are well covered. Allow the turkey to marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  5. 5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  6. 6. Transfer the marinated turkey to a baking dish. Add the fresh coriander leaves, mint leaves, and lemon juice over the turkey pieces.
  7. 7. Pour 1 cup of water into the baking dish to keep the turkey moist during cooking.
  8. 8. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to prevent the turkey from drying out.
  9. 9. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.
  10. 10. After 45 minutes, remove the aluminum foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes to allow the turkey to brown slightly.
  11. 11. Check the turkey for doneness by inserting a knife into the thickest part. If the juices run clear, the turkey is fully cooked.
  12. 12. Remove the baking dish from the oven and let the turkey rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  13. 13. Slice the turkey into desired portions and serve hot with your choice of Jain-friendly sides such as steamed vegetables, rice, or salad.
  14. 14. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and a squeeze of lemon juice before serving.
