Ingredients

  • 4 pcs approx (500g-650g) Apple Green
  • 100 Ml Gowardhan Ghee
  • 500 g Sugar
  • 50 g Cinnamon Powder
  • Loose Cardamom

Instructions

  1. 1. Gather all ingredients: 2 apples (peeled, cored, and sliced), 1 cup water, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder, 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder, 1 tablespoon ghee (clarified butter), and 1 tablespoon chopped almonds (optional).
  2. 2. Heat a medium-sized pan on low flame and add 1 tablespoon of ghee.
  3. 3. Once the ghee melts, add the sliced apples to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they soften slightly.
  4. 4. Add 1/4 cup sugar to the pan and stir gently to coat the apples evenly.
  5. 5. Pour 1 cup of water into the pan and mix well to combine with the sugar and apples.
  6. 6. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom powder over the mixture. Stir gently to incorporate the spices.
  7. 7. Cover the pan with a lid and let the mixture simmer on low heat for 8-10 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the liquid thickens slightly.
  8. 8. Remove the lid and check the consistency. If it’s too watery, let it simmer uncovered for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  9. 9. Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool for 5 minutes.
  10. 10. Garnish with chopped almonds (optional) for added texture and flavor.
  11. 11. Serve warm as a delightful Jain-friendly Christmas Eve dessert for 2-3 people.
