Ingredients
- 100 g Sambar Onion Peeled
- 100 g Garlic - Single Clove
- 500 g Organically Grown Tomato (Hybrid) (Tamatar)
- 1 Combo Fortune Rice Bran 870G & Mustard Oil 1L Pouch
- 100 g Jk Jeera Powder / Cumin Powder
- 100 g X 3 Mtr Turmeric Powder | Arisina Pudi Combo
- 1 pc (52 g) On1Y Paprika Powder
- 45 g On1Y Cinnamon Powder
- 50 g Sakthi Curry Powder
- 1 pc (1 kg) Tata Salt 2 In 1 Shakti Jar
- 750 ml Catch Clear Lemon N Lime Flavoured Water
- 1 kg Whole Farm Premium Brown Rice
Instructions
- 1. Cut 500 g of your choice of protein or substitute into cubes and set aside.
- 2. Chop 1 Sambar onion and mince 1 clove of garlic.
- 3. Heat 2 tbsp mustard oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until golden, about 5 minutes.
- 4. Add the protein or substitute cubes to the pan and season with 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/4 tsp turmeric, 1/4 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp curry powder, and 1/2 tsp salt. Stir well to coat the protein in the spices.
- 5. Chop 1 tomato and add it to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6. Add 1 cup water to the pan, cover, and simmer on low heat until the protein is tender, about 30-40 minutes.
- 7. While the protein is cooking, prepare 1 1/3 cups brown rice according to package instructions, as brown rice typically requires a longer cooking time than white rice.
- 8. Once the protein is tender, adjust seasoning if needed and serve the spiced mixture over the cooked brown rice.
