Ingredients
- 100 g Sambar Onion Peeled
- 500 g Organically Grown Tomato (Hybrid) (Tamatar)
- 250 ml Dabur Hommade Lemon Juice (Bottle)
- 500 g Truefarm Organic Red Kidney Beans Pack (Capparadavare)
- 1 kg Tata Plus Iron Health, Double Fortified Salt
- 250 g Mirchi Powder (Bedagi)
- 1 pack (100 g) Tata Sampann Pure Black Pepper Powder
Instructions
- 1. Wash 1 lb of mixed beans thoroughly and place them in a large kettle.
- 2. Cover the beans with water, ensuring the water level is 2 inches above the beans, and add 2 tbsp of salt. Let them soak overnight, then drain the water in the morning.
- 3. Add 8 cups of fresh water to the kettle with the soaked beans.
- 4. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 5. Add 1 diced Sambar onion, 1 chopped tomato, 1 tsp chili powder, 2 tbsp lemon juice, and 1/2 tsp black pepper to the kettle. Stir well to combine.
- 6. Reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer for 3 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 7. Once the soup is done, discard any solids that may have formed during cooking.
- 8. Stir the soup well and adjust the seasoning with additional salt or pepper if needed.
- 9. Serve the soup hot in bowls, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
