Ingredients

  • 200 g Dahi
  • 400G Freshos Corn Kernels
  • 100 g Cornflour
  • 1 l Refined Soyabean Oil
  • 200 g Table Salt
  • 50 g Cumin Powder
  • - Red Chilli Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of boiled sweet corn kernels, 2 tbsp finely chopped capsicum, 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander, 1/4 tsp red chili powder, 1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder, 1/4 tsp chaat masala, and salt to taste. Mix well to combine.
  2. 2. Add 2 tbsp of cornflour and 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour to the mixture. Mix thoroughly to form a dough-like consistency. If the mixture is too dry, add 1-2 tsp of water gradually.
  3. 3. Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small round balls, about the size of a ping-pong ball.
  4. 4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, gently drop the prepared corn balls into the oil and fry them until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  5. 5. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup of yogurt with 1/4 tsp chaat masala and a pinch of salt. This will be the dipping sauce.
  6. 6. Serve the hot corn shots with the prepared yogurt dipping sauce and garnish with a sprinkle of chaat masala or fresh coriander if desired.
