Ingredients
- 6 pcs White Eggs
- - Cayenne Pepper
- 1 piece Brown Onion
- - Toned Milk
- 1 l Refined Soyabean Oil
- 500 g Wheat Flour / Maida
- 55 g Paprika Powder
Instructions
- 1. Peel and trim the top of the brown onion, keeping the root intact. Cut into it to create petal-like wedges, without cutting through the root.
- 2. Gently separate the onion petals so they fan out and resemble a blooming flower.
- 3. In a mixing bowl, combine Samrat refined MP wheat flour and Keya powder - paprika, cayenne pepper, and add a pinch of salt.
- 4. In another bowl, beat Yojana poultry white power eggs with Amul homogenised toned milk to form a smooth batter.
- 5. Dip the prepared onion into the flour mixture, ensuring all petals are coated. Shake off excess flour.
- 6. Dip the floured onion into the egg and milk batter, making sure it is thoroughly coated.
- 7. Remove the onion from the batter and shake off any excess. Return it to the flour mixture for a second coating.
- 8. Heat Sunny soya fit refined soybean oil in a large pot over medium-high heat to about 350°F (175°C).
- 9. Carefully place the onion into the hot oil, root side up, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- 10. Carefully remove the Blooming Onion from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 11. Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce.
