Ingredients

  • 1 kg Basmati Rice
  • - Onion
  • - Chicken Breast
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • 250g Coriander
  • - Bay Leaf
  • 500 ml Water
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 100g Garam Masala
  • 100 g Coriander Powder
  • 10G Salt
  • 500 Ml Champion Oil
  • - Cumin Seed

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Heat the rice cooker and add cooking oil. Once hot, add cumin seeds and bay leaf, letting them sizzle for a few seconds.
  2. Step 2: Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
  3. Step 3: Add the chicken pieces and cook for 5-7 minutes until lightly browned.
  4. Step 4: Mix in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Stir well to coat the chicken.
  5. Step 5: Add the chopped tomatoes and slit green chilies, cooking until the tomatoes soften and the oil starts to separate.
  6. Step 6: Drain the soaked rice and lentils, then add them to the cooker. Mix gently with the chicken and spices.
  7. Step 7: Pour in the water, add salt to taste, and stir. Close the rice cooker lid and cook until the khichdi is soft and well-cooked.
  8. Step 8: Once done, fluff the khichdi gently with a fork and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
