- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- - Onion
- - Chicken Breast
- 250g Green Chilli
- 250g Coriander
- - Bay Leaf
- 500 ml Water
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100g Garam Masala
- 100 g Coriander Powder
- 10G Salt
- 500 Ml Champion Oil
- - Cumin Seed
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat the rice cooker and add cooking oil. Once hot, add cumin seeds and bay leaf, letting them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Step 2: Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
- Step 3: Add the chicken pieces and cook for 5-7 minutes until lightly browned.
- Step 4: Mix in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Stir well to coat the chicken.
- Step 5: Add the chopped tomatoes and slit green chilies, cooking until the tomatoes soften and the oil starts to separate.
- Step 6: Drain the soaked rice and lentils, then add them to the cooker. Mix gently with the chicken and spices.
- Step 7: Pour in the water, add salt to taste, and stir. Close the rice cooker lid and cook until the khichdi is soft and well-cooked.
- Step 8: Once done, fluff the khichdi gently with a fork and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
