Ingredients

  • 1 kg Basmati Rice
  • 100 g Tamarind Paste
  • 100G Oleo
  • - Dry Red Chillies
  • 500 g Chana Dal
  • 500 g Urad Dal
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 100 g Curry Leaves
  • 500g Good Life Raw Peanuts 500 G
  • 500 g Jaggery Powder
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly and cook it until just tender. Spread it on a plate to cool and prevent clumping.
  2. 2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter, followed by cumin seeds, dried red chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté for 30 seconds until aromatic.
  3. 3. Add chana dal and urad dal to the pan, stirring until they turn golden brown. Toss in the roasted peanuts and sauté for another minute.
  4. 4. Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, and tamarind pulp. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently to blend the flavors.
  5. 5. Add the cooked rice to the pan, gently mixing to coat the grains evenly with the tamarind mixture. Adjust salt to taste and add jaggery for a hint of sweetness, if desired.
