- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Jeera
- 50 g Asafoetida Powder
- 100 g Salt
- - Rice Flour
- 1 liter Sunflower Oil
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in warm water for 4-6 hours or overnight until softened.
- 2. Drain the soaked dal and blend it into a smooth batter using a food processor, adding a small amount of water if required to achieve a pourable consistency.
- 3. Transfer the batter to a mixing bowl and stir in rice flour, green chilies, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, asafoetida (hing), and salt. Mix well to evenly combine the ingredients.
- 4. Heat a non-stick skillet or flat pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with vegetable oil.
- 5. Pour a ladleful of the prepared batter onto the pan and spread it gently in a circular motion to form a thin pancake.
- 6. Cook the pancake for 2-3 minutes until the edges start to lift and the bottom turns golden brown, then flip it carefully and cook the other side for another 2 minutes.
- 7. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding oil to the pan as needed.
- 8. Serve the Masala Moong Dal Pancakes hot with your choice of chutney or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
