Ingredients
- 6 pcs White Eggs
- - Fresh Cream
- - Vanilla Essence
- 500g Apples
- 100 g Unsalted Butter
- 500 g Sugar
- 500 g Refined Flour
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Cinnamon
- 100 g Icing Sugar
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 9-inch round baking dish with butter and set aside.
- 2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 30g of butter and add the sliced apples. Sprinkle 30g of granulated sugar and cinnamon over the apples and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are caramelized and tender.
- 3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, remaining 40g of sugar, milk, heavy cream, rum, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Gradually sift in the flour, whisking continuously to avoid lumps, until you have a smooth batter.
- 4. Arrange the caramelized apples evenly in the prepared baking dish. Pour the batter over the apples, ensuring the apples are submerged but visible.
- 5. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the clafoutis is puffed and golden brown, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 6. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly for 5-10 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar before serving warm. Enjoy this luscious dessert as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
